Potluck

True to form, here's a bathroom to start off:

what does it say on that note?

oh; um, okay!

About a month ago I posted a picture on my Facebook wall of a guy riding a bike in a kilt. That was super novel to me, so when I saw another person walking around with one a couple weeks back, I couldn't help but take video him walking down the sidewalk. I'm not going to post that video though because he proceeded to walk into the same building that I work in, making him a co-worker. Hah!

The novelty still stuck until I was browsing the booths at the Freemont Fair and was flabbergasted to find this one:

Pretty great, huh? If you want to find out more, be my guest. There's plenty of models on their site in case you're wondering how one might look on you. Something to consider beforehand, though, is that it appears you must buy a large manly pair of boots to accompany your Utilikilt. No boots, no kilt.

I was invited to lunch at a new restaurant. All they make is biscuits & gravy.

and meat!

It was scrumptious. I'm going to try just their biscuits & gravy next time I go though.

Speaking of food, I was at Jimmy John's and noticed their cup:

AMERICA'S FAVORITE SANDWICH delivery guys!

I dislike such marketing gimmicks.

This bumper sticker caught my eye:

What does that tube say?

Oh! Ok..

if you stare at this picture long enough all of your worries will melt away

I never saw him again so maybe he made it

Seattle's version of "feeding the ducks"

wow

What's that chinking sound I hear?

oh, it's the 10lbs worth of keys he's wearing

Never seen a Roomba in action? Here's your big opportunity:

And yes, I am so tricky with my foot.

An outdoor ping-pong table:

I bet it looks neat at night

I was told that people do actually use it.

there's nothing like a healthy dose of low-tech demolition to wake you up every morning at 7

Summer gasoline prices getting you down?

not me

prickly leaves

The telephone pole ad that started it all:

it was worth my time

My roommate is a composer. He doesn't think he was playing good in this clip, but at least it shows what level he's on:

Snoqualmie Falls entertained me for a few minutes last weekend:

it's taller than Niagara Falls

Afterwards I continued on to do a ~3.5 mile hike named "Twin Falls."

I ♥ moss covered trees

shrooms!

a tree covered with shrooms part 1

shroom tree part 2

I'd never seen a sapling growing from dead stump before.

same

Or anything quite like this:

although I've seen tree roots covering Hernán Cortés's house in Mexico

I witnessed animal cruelty.

one of my best friends has a dog of this breed, so I'm sure he'll be appalled when he sees this

mmm, fresh

And the main attraction:

baby twin

grown up twin

tranquil

noble

What am I supposed to do once I get inside this tree? Smile, I guess.

too bad I didn't see this before I did the hike

what's that?

This weekend I went to Packwood. I went on a hike while I was there.

I got to enjoy some leg swinging action

and contemplate the origins of the ever-mysterious Beer Tree

Later, on to Paradise at Mt. Rainier.

I made a snow angel with my foot. (cut me some slack; it was cold and melty)

There were some pretty Steller's Jays that were being fed illegally.

And I had a close encounter of the waterfall kind.

ignore the fact that my camera focused on the dirty glass

Whelp, thanks for reading! You're a trooper for making it to the end. I hope it was worth it.

  1. Nice, I felt like I went on the hike, without the work part.
