This time I've got two potty pictures. I'll save the best for last though.
Turns out granola is one of my favorite breakfast foods. One day at the bulk section things got a little out of hand.

that is 5lb of granola
This was part of the result of my second purchase at Top Pot Doughnuts. One dozen at half price (half price being $8).

We had an apple bobbing contest for FHE. The guy on the left was our Elders Quorum President. It was the fastest bob I've ever seen in my life. We're talking "Ready.. Set.. Go!" down, up, done. I was caught off guard and barely had time to take this picture.

as you can tell, the other guy got smoked
I went to a "Wooden Boat Show" and amongst other pictures, took these two.
Hero spelling. I hope this was because they were out a 'y'.
I believe this to be the largest sign of its type that I've ever seen.
I watched fireworks on the 4th of July with my roommate, Mark, from our apartment's roof. This was the only picture I took to record the occasion.

and it isn't even that good because I didn't care enough to bust out my tripod
They game me a couple of drink tickets at the 4th of July party.

and I still had them post party
Somebody was nice enough to dress up this statue for Independence Day.
I wish people would not do this.
There's a park I found while I was out walking that has some interesting rock "formations."
This old man was there.

he looked pretty feeble so I stuck around to see if he'd make it up the stairs. he did.
On the same walk I wandered onto a bridge and, upon looking down, found a group of house boats, or should I say "floating houses?"
![]() |
Mark had told me about these earlier, but I didn't really understand until I saw them in person
Apparently said bridge has also had its share of suicides.
On the same walk I also spied a neat building..
..I saw this couple..
..I found the Swedish Cultural Center (which also served Swedish lunches (which I unfortunately did not partake of))..
..I admired this yellow home..
..I found this old fashioned engine..
..noticed a hole..

including how well it was labeled
..wondered why someone decided to call a portable toilet a "Honey Bucket"..
..AND got around to taking pictures of art on the underside of a bridge.
It can be amazing what you'll find on a walk.
This is Mark sleeping.
And this is Mark in a rain poncho.
He is sporting a rain poncho because he needed it. Me, him, Matt, and Maren went to the Olympic Peninsula for a weekend of camping close to the Hoh Rainforest. It was lush.

While out there we went to La Push Beach. When we got there we found out that a Native American tribe, the Quileute, owned the land and that they were having their annual "Quileute Days" that weekend. That meant a free fireworks show! We felt very fortunate to have come upon this event without any prior planning for it. I didn't take any pictures of the actual fireworks, but we sat all of 100 feet from where they were launched. Some of the shrapnel landed around us, to give you an idea of how close we were. Here is a picture of a man photographing his (off camera) family on that same beach.

there are some neat islands that jut straight out of the bay in the background
There were also some people barbecuing among the driftwood.
On our drive back we visited a popular national park named Hurricane Ridge. This is a view from the top.
And this was a sign I thought funny.

coming soon to a theater near you: "Attack of the Wild Deer"
This is not the other bathroom pic I referred to when starting, but at the Visitors Center I thought they did well when lighting the stalls.
I also thought this outline on the 3D map was interesting. Why was this wilderness area specially set apart when it was already within a national forest? Why name it after after Robert Green Ingersoll?
We saw this endearing road sign.
We got some Mickey D's.

thankfully, they double checked my order for accuracy
There were some kinds of fountains I'd never seen before. Because Blogger compresses the video so heavily it's hard to see what's going on though. Water is being shot in smooth arcs between the different pools of water.
It almost appeared as if the water wasn't moving at the source.
Then there were these metal protuberances that resembled small volcanoes. They even blew up every thirty seconds or so.
Sorry that it's sideways.
There was also this kind of "fluffy" tree.
![]() |
what species is this?
I saw geese like this almost every day. There's always a sentinel or two.
I almost cried when I was 'draining' the top layer of distilled liquid yoghurt on the surface when the whole rest of it fell out.
This made my morning delicious.

the place that made this went out of business shortly thereafter
If you understand this, you win.
Remember when 'pencil' didn't need a qualifier?
I melted my shoe. Thankfully not while it was on my foot.
I went to a place called Warm Beach Camp. I found a chair there.
It was chained.
There was a little chapel there. It was such a beautiful setting. It was quiet and apart from the other buildings. I spent around an hour and a half there, relaxing.
